Thank you!

Thank you friends and customers - we've been here two years! You've watched us grow and expand. Our course seems a bit truer these days. Hope you have enjoyed the addition of Virilio, with his spicy dishes!

You've seen us 'weeble and wabble' a bit the first year. Some great people have worked with us, but there was the unfortunate bit with our 'night manager' who was also developing our website. If you've seen the website full of disgusting and false ranting and raving, it was abscounded by the "night manager" after we pushed him out the door after finding out he was a serious drug addict. So, enough of that.

Thank you again. It's been fun being here!

Really Good Mexican Food with Flavor!

Introducing our new cook, Virilio Martinez! His creations are fresh and more often than not, spicy! Featuring sauces such as Chili Verde (based on Tomatillos), Mole Sauce, Chipotle, Ranchero Sauces and spicy Salsa.

His cooking originated in Nicaragua, which means there's a slight Central American twist to many of his dishes. Example: Huevos Rancheros are crisped corn tortillas with a cooked egg nestled in the center, and served with hand-made ranchero sauce! It's yummy! Offered on Saturday, and occasionally as a lunch made special, but can be made on request at any time.

Come on over/down the hill for lunch! We feature our American menu also, and breakfast all day!

Rob Allison's Western Star - Music for the Faint of Heart

FREE MUSIC!! SATURDAY NIGHT!!! September 26th 6pm - CAFE UNDER THE BRIDGE!! ST. JOHNS!

"Pacific Northwest Americana"
http://www.myspace.com/westernstarseattle

Rob Allison is the consummate and quintessential Pacific Northwestern musician. His musical roots begin in the wind & rain swept Southern Oregon Coastal town of Coos Bay, where he was born and raised playing drums and listening to Johnny Cash & Hank Williams. They extend now to Seattle, Washington where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Voice Performance from Cornish College of the Arts in 2001. Prior to moving to Seattle to live permanently, Rob lived and wrote music in the remote Bitter Root mountains of Northern Idaho, and also on the sunburned, high plain/meets Rockie mountains, of Colorado. His life has been dedicated to the pursuit of playing and writing music that is uniquely his own, containing a perspective and depth that only a true lover of ALL music could nurture and possess.

Rob's music is truly Pacific Northwestern Americana at it's most rain soaked, evergreen, dark, descriptive, and best. Songs written on an acoustic guitar played both solo or accompanied by his band, Western Star, tell stories of run away log trucks on Blue Ridge in the coastal cascade mountains, coyotes living precariously yet bravely in Seattle, widowed and heartbroken spinsters living on lonely fir, pine & huckleberry covered mountains near the Willamette Valley of Oregon, and stories of sudden death, hand in hand with moss covered cabins on the edge of deep black lakes of the rain forested, ominous but beautiful, Olympic Peninsula. The songs draw you in with their story telling. Their characters intrigue, and the detail paid to Northwestern culture, slang and habitat, leave one looking for blackberry stains on one's own jeans, face, and hands.

Come on down after work, pick a table, order up from the menu, and enjoy the free music! We can’t wait to meet you!

Super Successful First Night of Live Music!!!

I’m grinning ear to ear! A big thanks to everyone who came out to our very first night of live music at CafĂ© Under the Bridge!!!

Pheasant – the band that is – and quite a young one at that - entertained the crowd with their upbeat, mellow rock and pretty danceable all- original numbers (I was seen shaking it out there!). The group of friends have been playing together for a short few months, but play as though they have been working together much longer than three months!! This is a band you will want to come out and see and maybe book them for your office party or something fun like that!! It’s looking like Pheasant is going to be on our entertainment schedule again!

Turns out they loved playing here so much and we loved them in kind, they will be returning next Friday night, August 28th at 6:30 pm! And we are planning for this show to be outside on the amazing deck with the amazing view!! Grab a friend and come on down! You’ll be glad you did! We all had a blast tonight and we’re looking forward to having live local music all week long!!!

Come on down after work, pick a table, order up from the menu, and enjoy the free music! We can’t wait to meet you!

Announcing the Musky Buskers to play Cafe Under the Bridge Friday August 21 @ 6pm!

Cafe Under the Bridge is pleased to welcome the Musky Buskers to our musical line up this Friday, August 21, 2009 6:00pm!!

The Musky Buskers consist of Jensen Graham and Kyle Neuman who hail from Seattle, and Santa Cruz perspectively who are recently transplanted to Portland....

"We love Portland!!! Music here compared to Seattle is pretty similar and of course and I am impressed by it because as small a town as Portland is, there's a lot going on here in the way of great music and bands...People are way more friendly and welcoming in Portland than Seattle too for some reason...We have been playing around in California and all over west coast, but we are new to playing shows in Portland and looking forward to making new friends and fans here locally. We bring a special feeling to the delta blues we play...."

Indeed they do!!! Give 'em a listen at http://www.myspace.com/muskybuskers

Bring your friends & family!!! SEE YOU FRIDAY!!

Announcing Our First Musical Gig at Cafe Under the Bridge!

Pheasant plays this Thursday August 20th @ 6:00pm at Cafe Under the Bridge!!

Pheasant - which consists of four friends who play all originals in the classic rock/folk vein with a mellow twist - will be playing Thursday night starting around 6pm at the Cafe!

Matt Jenkins, 21, started playing guitar about a year ago after spending some time as a front man in other bands and struck up a passion with it and started consistently writing songs...He started Pheasant with a bunch of his Scappose hometown buddies just three short months ago - ramped up super quickly and are now booking quite a lot of Portland and Scappoose shows and started to get some attention. Come down and check out Pheasant this Thursday August 20th after you get off work! We have great food menu for you and refreshing lemon mint iced tea to quench your after work hunger & thirst!
